Tugu Tani Incident



22-01-2012 that's Sunday morning when a woman driving her car and hit a pedestrian. A total of 9 people died in the incident. Upon investigation it turns out the woman is in a drunken condition and positively take a drugs. Not only that, she was also driving a car with no any license. Police probing Sunday’s horrific traffic accident that left nine pedestrians dead have widened their investigation to the ownership of the car involved and have raised the possibility that the driver may have stolen it.



Adj. Comr. Sudarmanto, head of traffic enforcement directorate Jakarta police, said the driver of the vehicle, Afriani Susanti, 29, has been found without a valid driver's license or vehicle registration, and only a photocopy of the expired registration document. He said the owner of the copy identified as Riohendi Deden, residents Cipinang in East Jakarta. "But after we checked with him, it turns out that he had sold the car in 2009," said Sudarmanto.. A check of the database showed that police vehicles have been sold to Buniarti Kosim, a resident of Palm d'Ivoire in North Jakarta. Sudarmanto Buniarti adding that police questioning on Thursday but still not to connect the owner to Afriani, who remains in police custody along with three other passenger car at the time of the accident. Afriani face charges of murder and drug use. A urine test conducted by the police appear positive for ecstasy, and the result is confirmed in subsequent blood tests by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN).The three passenger was also arrested on drug charges. The four were headed home from a nightclub in West Jakarta Stadium shortly before noon on Sunday when Afriani veered off the road and crashed into a group of pedestrians, killing nine of them. In the first public statement since the incident, Afriani apologized to the families of the victims in a letter read by his brother, Ayudyah Safitri, in a press conference on Wednesday night. In it, he "apologized for everything," says that "maybe my apology means nothing. But, please let me say, 'sorry, sorry, sorry' ...." Brother driver, Agus Susanto Day, also revealed that the family has been trying to contact the family of the deceased and to offer them compensation injury.
